Duties and Responsibilities:
Daily routing / dispatching of Transmark Cartage Services commercial / residential pick-ups & deliveries.
Ensures all services are completed in a timely, cost-effective manner; based on customer requirements.
Provide quotes, as requested, for TCS special services; maintain TCS profitability standards.
Be familiar with, and follow, all customer SOP's.
Communicate shipment status to all appropriate TCS personnel.
Ensures proper transfer of operational status to PM Dispatcher.
Build driver routes so TCS can be the most profitable. Always exhaust all options before using on call drivers and requesting rental equipment.
Proactively communicate with customers/TCS staff regarding any service delays or issues.
Research/resolve customer inquiries/problems regarding TCS services, rates, and deliveries.
Attributes / Skills:
Displays positive, customer service attitude.
Works well independently or as member of a group.
Must be a proactive individual, self-starter, who can drive projects to timely completion.
Effective planning/organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to set priorities; attention to detail.
Works well under pressure; must be flexible and open to changing priorities and multiple projects.
Analytical thinker with collaborative problem-solving/decision making skills.
Ability to type 40 WPM and operate a 10 key calculator.
Computer/PC skills desired (Word, Excel, and Gmail).
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or G.E.D
Some college exposure desired.
1 year transportation/dispatching background required.
Experience in freight forwarding / 3PL customer service environments preferred.
Knowledge of freight forwarding / transportation operations preferred.
